Elizabeth Pena
Office Manager, RDA
Elizabeth graduated from San Jose City College in 1999 as a Dental Assistant. In the course of the past 22 years, she has worked in both the front and back office. Maintaining her RDA, she keeps current with up-to-date training in order to better assist patients. With her extensive experience she enjoys helping patients understand their insurance, as well as making them feel at ease with any other dental related questions. When not helping patients maximize their dental benefits, she enjoys spending time with her husband of over 30 years, her kids, grandkids, two Sheppard’s, “Sasha & Marley”, camping, traveling, and attending Live Country concerts.
Emily Thompson
Registered Dental Hygienist
Emily began working in the dental field as an RDA for 6 years before returning back to Carrington College, graduating in 2009 as a Dental Hygienist. Now being in the field for 20 years, she takes pride in being able to share her acquired dental knowledge with Dr. Koo’s wonderful patients. Emily finds this, “extremely rewarding”. When she’s not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her loved ones, working out, trying new recipes, traveling, and escaping to her family Cabin in Aptos with her dog, “Chloe”.
Alisa Barry
Alisa graduated as a Dental Assistant in 2001. Her passion in dentistry drove her to attend hygiene school shortly after, thus, resulting in her working part-time as an assistant while attending Foothill College. In 2003, she graduated with her AS Degree in Dental Hygiene. She has enjoyed working in private dental offices for the past 19 years, where she takes pleasure in treating and educating patients on all aspects of their oral health needs. When not in a clinical setting, she enjoys spending time with her husband of 12 years, and her 2 wonderful children.
My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Koo for about 30 years. We plan to remain his patients for another 30 or so - if we make it to 100! Dr. Koo will have to retire before we will change dentists.

I've seen Dr. Koo three times now and my teeth have never felt or looked better! I will say that I've never been more confident and felt more at home than I do with Dr. Koo. I believe that he really cares about his patients, this is a major plus for me considering some of my past dental experiences with other dentists. The first time I went in he repaired some poor dental work I had done by another dentist. This was a big problematic area for me but he accessed the issue and I've had no problem since. Recently, Dr. Koo recommended I explore a whitening procedure (I DRINK WAY TOO MUCH COFFEE) and after I was finished the process my teeth literally have never looked better! Highly recommend this office, front desk staff is super awesome too!

Let me start off by saying that I have been seeing Dr. Koo for over 25 years now and I don't ever plan on seeing anyone else. Over the years Dr. Koo and his staff (from the front desk to his dental assistants) have been courteous, caring, and extremely helpful to my entire family and I. From the latest equipment, to years of knowledgeable experience, there has never been a dental issue that Dr. Koo has not been able to assist me with. The entire staff is not only friendly but very informative and helpful. They all work together very well to keep the appointments, service, and overall practice running smooth. They will do their absolute best to accommodate your schedule when making appointments and will work with you to find a time that works best. Overall, I couldn't be more pleased with the service, support, and care that Dr. Koo and his staff have provided me over the years. My family and I are truly grateful to have such a knowledgeable, professional, and friendly dentist that we have been fortunate enough to be able to count on for over 25 years.

Our family has gone to Dr. Koo's office for over 20 years. From everyone in the front office to Dr. Koo himself, we are greeted warmly and treated with TLC. Cindy and Bobbie take care of our appointments and finances and Mari is the best in preventive care. The entire staff works well as a team.
